After locking up the Spast brothers, Marshall Hart turns his attention to bringing in Jonah Hex. Meanwhile, Jonah Hex and Mei Ling profess their love for one another, and Hex promises Mei Ling he will stop killing after he finishes his current job for which he has already given his word to do.

Hex heads out looking for the bank robber he's been hired to find, but can find no trace of him. Soon Hart catches up with him and arrests him.

With no sheriff or deputies in Feldon's Gap to keep an eye on them, the Spasts escape the town jail.

While stopping for water Hart and Hex are attacked by a tribe of Apaches.
